For Decades, I Stood Tall & Firm As a Door

Guarding entrances, weathering seasons, witnessing generations pass through. The grain in my face held the marks of time, each scratch and dent a memory of life well lived. But my story didn’t end when the house was taken down.

The artisans found me.

I was gifted new life. Reclaimed, reimagined, and transformed into something entirely new: the centerpiece of a table in the Old Door collection. Now, I rest horizontally, no longer bearing my weight on hinges, but supporting countless moments through shared meals, laughter and stories.

They paired me thoughtfully with fresh timber, new legs and a sturdy frame to complement my weathered character. I am the highlight of the design... inset panels of solid, recycled hardwood. Each piece hand selected to bring out the best in my timeworn texture and grain. Together, we create a pattern that’s never the same twice. Each table is a swirling fingerprint... unique, like me.

To protect my surface, artisans applied four careful coats of German lacquer by hand, sanding between each one. Now, I stand up to hot coffee cups, red wine, warm plates... you name it. I may be old, but I’m now stronger than ever.
