It All Comes Back To The Timber With The Palo
It USED to be part of a house or maybe even a barn... the panels in a Palo aren't from some pile of pine that you would see at your local hardware store. These pieces of timber are old. Decades old. Older than me and I've been around the block more times than I care to admit.
This hardwood just gets harder and better with age though... And don't we all wish that we were the same as that. The crafty people at the manufacturer level though, they don't thing that age is enough. They are all about overkill, it seems.
The Process From Scrap To Reclaimed
These people who make this gear, they are experienced. They are artisans of the highest order, to tell the truth. They are able to look at a piece of timber and tell you or I whether it has faults or CHARACTER. They take their pile of cherished wood and then marry up panels, knowing that these guys will need to be together FOREVER.
They pair up these decades old panels with new hardwood frames, then start sanding. And sanding. And sanding. Once they have the surface smooth, they apply FIVE layers of GERMAN lacquer. Why German, you ask? Those Germans know a thing or two about precision and hardness.
The Last word
Featuring 6 solid, deep drawers, rustic-come-contemporary drawer pulls, old fashioned drawer stoppers and a hardness that will outlast just about any piece of furniture that I'd find in my house. The Palo is a chest of drawers that could be the last that you ever have to buy.
